In a Crunchy Nutshell With A Smooshy Center

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. My journal is friends only, but I'm always interested in meeting new people.

Things that help me breathe:

+ listening to every type of music under the sun.
+ watching as many films as I can and making geeky film lists.
+ making arts & crafts and juggling multiple DIY projects at any given time.
+ caring for my animal kiddos, who own my heart.
+ being a proud auntie-friend to the two coolest dudes in the world.
+ taking care of wildlife and the environment.
+ exploring holistic paths of health and wellness and making natural health/beauty products.
+ escaping into the worlds created by good books.
+ collecting herbal teas and getting lost in the tastes and smells.
+ taking photographs of every ordinary and extraordinary thing I see.
+ digging my hands in the soil and watching my herbs and wildlife gardens grow.
+ feeling piano keys and guitar strings underneath my fingers.
+ reading tarot and oracle cards, using crystals, practicing reiki, meditation.
+ reading books on spiritual and philosophical thoughts and theories.
+ getting lost in bookstores, antique stores, libraries and thrift stores.
+ fangirling past and present: Elementary, Sherlock, Inception, Supernatural, The X-Files, Modern Family, New Girl, Parks and Rec, Community, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Flight of the Conchords, Six Feet Under, Buffy, Sex and the City, Amelie and many more.

I live with Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, as well as anxiety and my life is a little unique because of those. I don't shy away from delving into mind/body stuff in my journal and I welcome others who are on a similar path or are supportive of those of us who are. I believe there are lessons in everything and we all have stories to tell.

I've made some deeply cherished friendships on LJ and I like getting to know the people on my friends list. I've been on LJ for over a decade and it's my safe space where I can be myself and where I can meet others who delve a little deeper into their lives than on other social sites. I really appreciate the wonderful comment system here because it's an opportunity to truly connect and be engaged with one another. I'm not a fast-paced blurb person. I'm a sit down with a cup of tea and ramble on for hours with good company on a rainy day kind of person. LJ is my cup of tea and ramble session.

I maintain the CFIDS/ME support community cfids_me. I also used to maintain the now just a fantastic memory spn_dallascon, one_good_man and aspire2009.
